Together with the tonka bean field, I have come to refer to the area as a small garden of Eden.
We were so free, places to play,
including the football fields we made,
fruit trees, which we climbed, so many;
ponds where we would bathe,
and the famous Panama canal where we ‘ran horse’ and also bathe whenever heavy showers would swell its waters.
Don’t forget swinging on vines and jumping into the cliff.
Our boy days were happy and different from those of many children.
